What
Yul Edochie Said Against Peter Obi
Taking to his Twitter handle, he noted that the former Anambra State governor has not achieved anything politically since he left APGA.
Citing the reasons, he posted:
“Peter Obi’s Presidential ambition is tied to APGA. The party he swore he will never leave.
“Peter swore before Ojukwu and Ndi Anambra that he will never leave APGA. He said he will die with APGA.
“He said if he leaves APGA may he never achieve anything politically.
“He later left APGA. That’s why he hasn’t achieved anything politically since then.”
He remarked that while other people used his name to win elections in 2023, he, the owner of the name lost.
“I’m surprised he hasn’t realized this. Oaths are very powerful,” he said in disbelief.
He ended his post with a reminder that whatever Obi is doing with ADC is a waste of time.
“Peter Obi has chances of being President in 2031 after TINUBU, but he can only do it with APGA,” he added.
Timeline of Yul Edochie Attacks on Peter Obi
Yul Edochie has repeatedly attacked Peter Obi’s political ambitions, especially since 2023.
He often claiming Obi’s moves are “dead on arrival” and that he cannot be President now.
His criticisms intensified in April 2026, focusing on Obi’s reported alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

- He often contrasted Obi’s campaign with his own support for Bola Tinubu, branding himself an “Asiwaju Boy 100%.”
🔹 2024–2025 – Sporadic Criticisms
- Yul occasionally resurfaced with disparaging remarks, questioning Obi’s coalition-building efforts and dismissing his chances of unseating Tinubu.
- He framed Obi’s popularity as “noise without structure,” echoing criticisms from Tinubu’s camp.
🔹 April 21, 2026 – Coordinated Online Posts
This marks the most intense wave of attacks:
- April 21, 2026: Yul declared Obi’s ADC move “dead on arrival” and insisted “Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now.”
- April 21, 2026: Fans lashed back at Yul after he posted that “any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter.”
- April 21, 2026: He repeated that Obi’s ADC involvement was a “total waste of time” and claimed Obi weakens opposition coalitions.
- April 21, 2026: Yul insisted Obi’s ambition was “not possible now,” questioning his political direction.
- April 21, 2026: He emphasized that Obi’s challenges are “not physical” but “deeper,” suggesting spiritual or oath-related issues.
Key Themes in Edochie’s Attacks
- Spiritual/Oath Narrative: Yul repeatedly claims Obi’s departure from APGA after swearing loyalty to Ojukwu and Ndi Anambra has cursed his political journey.
- ADC Criticism: He insists Obi’s coalition efforts with ADC are futile and will collapse.
- Tinubu Loyalty: Yul positions himself as a staunch Tinubu supporter, often using Obi as a foil to praise Tinubu’s leadership.
- Public Backlash: Each attack sparks strong reactions online, with many Nigerians accusing Yul of disrespecting Obi and seeking relevance through controversy.
Yul Edochie’s attacks on Peter Obi follow a consistent pattern since 2023, peaking in April 2026 with multiple posts across platforms.
His criticisms combine political loyalty to Tinubu with a spiritual oath narrative, making him one of Obi’s most vocal Nollywood detractors.
His criticisms have, however, been dismissed by some as clout chasing, arguing that his invectives stop Obi from garnering 97% of votes in the South East in 2023.
