TDGovernor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
At a press briefing today, Makinde unveiled the Reset Nigeria Movement, a new political initiative aimed at galvanizing support for his presidential ambition.
He also launched a dedicated campaign website to serve as the hub for his message and outreach.
In a surprising twist, the Turaki Wing of the PDP announced a working relationship with the newly formed APM.

This development has raised questions about the future of the PDP, which is currently embroiled in a struggle for legitimacy and internal cohesion.
Makinde’s declaration marks one of the earliest formal entries into the 2027 race, signaling a potentially turbulent political season ahead.
Analysts say his move could reshape alliances and intensify debates about Nigeria’s political realignment.
