TDFormer Federal Commissioner with the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), FCT, and National Coordinator of South East Patriots, Sir Obunike Callistus Ohaegbu, popularly known as Nwa Miss, has officially obtained the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Expression of Interest Form to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Ohaegbu received the form at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja amid cheers from supporters and party faithful, signaling his formal entry into the race for the federal constituency seat.
Speaking with journalists shortly after obtaining the form, Ohaegbu called on his supporters across the constituency and the South-East to join the NDC en masse.
He described the party as the platform through which Nigerians would rescue the country from what he termed the “failed administration” of the APC-led Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to him, the 2027 elections would provide Nigerians with an opportunity to enthrone a “tested, trusted, and competent leadership” under Peter Obi and the NDC.
“The NDC represents hope for millions of Nigerians who are tired of hardship, insecurity, economic collapse, and failed governance.
“Nigerians are ready for a new direction, and the South-East will play a strategic role in that movement,” he stated.

Responding to questions regarding rumours that the party had already granted an automatic ticket to one of his opponents, Ohaegbu dismissed the claims as baseless and politically motivated.
He argued that it would amount to hypocrisy for a party seeking to unseat what he described as an underperforming government to hand over its mandate to “a failed and underperforming legislator who was rejected by his own people at the polls in 2023.”
“It is impossible for a serious political party preparing to rescue Nigeria to reward failure.
“The NDC understands the importance of credibility, competence, acceptability, and grassroots support in choosing candidates,” he added.
Ohaegbu expressed confidence that his experience in public service, political mobilization, and community development initiatives would distinguish him ahead of the party primaries.
He further assured supporters that the NDC leadership would conduct a transparent process and ultimately present the best candidate capable of winning the seat and effectively representing the people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
The legal practitioner and political activist, widely known by the political nickname Nwa Miss, has in recent months intensified consultations and grassroots engagements across the constituency ahead of the 2027 elections.
