TDPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu will embark on a three-nation diplomatic tour covering France, Kenya, and Rwanda, beginning Saturday, May 2, according to a State House press release issued on Friday.
The President will depart from Abuja with his first stop in France before proceeding to Nairobi, where he is scheduled to participate in the upcoming Africa-France Summit.
The high-level gathering, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, is set to take place from May 11 to May 12.
The summit will focus on critical areas shaping Africa’s future, including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, reforms in the global financing architecture, and climate action.
With the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” the event is expected to convene African leaders alongside their French counterparts to deliberate on pressing developmental challenges and opportunities across the continent.
According to the presidency, Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with both African nations and France, particularly in areas tied to economic growth, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and technological advancement.
Following the Kenya engagement, the Nigerian leader will travel to Kigali to attend the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15.
The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is regarded as one of the continent’s largest gatherings of private sector leaders, policymakers, and global investors.
Organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the forum will bring together over 2,000 participants, including top executives and government officials.
Discussions will center on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration, increased cross-border investment, and scalable industrial growth.
During both summits, President Tinubu is expected to deliver keynote statements outlining his administration’s economic reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria as a leading investment destination.
He will also hold bilateral meetings with global business leaders and policymakers to strengthen economic ties and attract foreign investment.
The President will be accompanied by selected ministers and senior government officials.
He is expected to return to Nigeria at the conclusion of the Rwanda leg of the trip.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to deepen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic engagement on the global stage.
