TD Ibadan, Oyo State — Yoruba activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has released a statement and video accusing Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of siding with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).
Igboho accused Makinde of obstructing his efforts to protect local communities from insecurity.
In the video shared via Koiki Media, Igboho’s spokesperson Olayomi Koiki declared that they are no longer afraid of the Governor.
Koiki stressed that their mission is solely to safeguard the people of Oyo State.
Koiki emphasized that Igboho’s actions are not targeted at any ethnic group but are focused on combating criminality and ensuring peace in the region.
Background of the Dispute
The tension stems from allegations made by MACBAN’s Oyo State Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Jiji, who accused Igboho of threatening Fulani communities.
Igboho, through his spokesperson, rejected the claims.
He insisted that his advocacy is against banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of insecurity that have plagued rural communities in Oyo and neighboring states.

Igboho’s Position
Igboho reiterated that his movement is committed to defending the rights of indigenous people and ensuring that farmers and residents can live without fear.
He accused Governor Makinde of undermining these efforts by aligning with Miyetti Allah.
The group is often criticized in the Southwest for alleged links to herders involved in violent clashes.
Public Reaction
The statement and video have sparked widespread debate across social media platforms.
Igboho’s supporters praise his courage, while critics urge caution to avoid escalating ethnic tensions.
Many commentators highlighted the need for impartiality and stronger collaboration between government and community leaders to address insecurity.
Sunday Igboho, through Koiki Media, openly accused Governor Seyi Makinde of supporting Miyetti Allah while blocking his grassroots security efforts.
The activist insists his mission is to protect the people, not to target any ethnic group.
He vowed to continue his campaign for peace and safety in Oyo State.
