TDThe Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), led by Comrade Uchenna Madu, has strongly cautioned its sister organization, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), against what it described as “market dancing” born out of internal rancor and leadership disputes.
This was contained in a statement released by Comrade Edeson Samuel, MASSOB National Director of Information.
Comrade Samuel said that while it usually avoids meddling in the internal affairs of other pro-Biafra groups, the involvement of Biafra’s collective interest in IPOB’s disputes has made silence impossible.
“Your attacks and counter-attacks, allegations and counter-allegations are not useful or healthy to the self-determination struggle for Biafra actualization and restoration,” MASSOB declared.
The group emphasized that IPOB, like MASSOB, has become a household name in the Biafra struggle.
It must, therefore, not be dragged into disrepute by infighting.
Samuel advised IPOB leaders to sheath their swords and embrace dialogue.
He urged them to work toward peaceful resolution of disagreements in order to safeguard the integrity of the movement.
On Leadership Titles
MASSOB reiterated its position on leadership within the Biafra movement.
He stressed that there is no official title known as “Supreme Leader” in Biafra land.
The group argued that the term “Supreme” is an attribute reserved for God Almighty alone, and any attempt to assume such a title amounts to a direct challenge to divine authority.
Samuel, in the statement, recalled that on June 29, 2017, pro-Biafra organizations under the umbrella of the Biafra People National Council (BPNC), with MASSOB’s participation, declared Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as the arrowhead of the Biafra struggle.
However, he clarified that he was never crowned “Supreme Leader.”

Call for Unity
MASSOB’s intervention underscores the growing concern among pro-Biafra groups that internal divisions could weaken the broader struggle for self-determination.
By urging IPOB to halt public quarrels and focus on unity, MASSOB seeks to preserve the credibility of the Biafra cause and prevent further damage to its image.
The statement concluded with a renewed call for peace, understanding, and collective responsibility among all Biafran organizations.
It reminded them that the ultimate goal remains the actualization and restoration of Biafra.
