TDSenator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for the 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial Election, further strengthening her political influence in Kogi State ahead of the next general elections.

The announcement followed the conclusion of the party’s internal nomination process.

Party stakeholders and delegates reportedly endorsed the lawmaker to fly the PDP flag for the highly anticipated senatorial contest.

Akpoti-Uduaghan currently represents Kogi Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

She has remained one of the most prominent political figures in the North Central region.

She has attracted national attention for her outspoken legislative interventions and advocacy on governance, infrastructure, women inclusion and social justice.

Her emergence is already generating excitement among supporters across the five local government areas that make up Kogi Central.

Many party faithful described her candidacy as a strategic move capable of consolidating PDP’s strength in the district.

Speaking shortly after her emergence, Akpoti-Uduaghan appreciated party leaders, delegates and supporters for their confidence in her leadership.

She, meanwhile, pledged to continue championing the interests of the people of Kogi Central.

She reaffirmed her commitment to quality representation, empowerment programmes and people-oriented legislation.

The fiery lawmaker insisted that the district deserves sustained development and stronger federal presence.

Political observers believe the development could reshape the political calculations ahead of the 2027 elections in Kogi State, especially considering Akpoti-Uduaghan’s growing popularity among youths and women in the state.

The senator has, over the years, built a strong political structure through grassroots engagements and advocacy campaigns.

She has also engaged in community-based interventions, making her one of the most influential politicians in the region.

Meanwhile, supporters of the PDP have continued to celebrate her emergence on social media.

They express optimism that the party would retain the Kogi Central Senate seat in the forthcoming election.

Analysts also predict that the contest for the senatorial district may become one of the most closely watched races in the state.

The prediction is predicated on the strategic importance of Kogi Central in Kogi politics.

As preparations for the 2027 general elections gradually gather momentum, attention is expected to remain on Akpoti-Uduaghan and other major political actors positioning themselves for key electoral battles across Nigeria.
