TD London, United Kingdom — The Village Boys Movement has appointed Issac Fayose as an Ambassador of the movement as political mobilisation and engagement among Nigerians in the diaspora intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appointment was announced and formally conveyed by the Village Headmaster of the Village Boys Movement, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, during the first edition of the Obidient Connect Meet and Greet, held in London, United Kingdom.
The event brought together members, supporters and sympathisers of the Obidient movement in the United Kingdom for networking, interaction and discussions around the movement’s continued political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to the Village Boys Movement, the appointment of Fayose is part of its efforts to strengthen its mobilisation structure by bringing individuals with public visibility, organisational capacity and commitment to its political objectives into positions of responsibility.
Fayose Pledges Support for Peter Obi
Accepting the appointment, Issac Fayose expressed his appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with other stakeholders within the movement towards the emergence of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as President of Nigeria in 2027.
Fayose said his engagement would focus on strengthening grassroots participation, mobilising Nigerians and encouraging greater involvement in the democratic process.
He also pledged to contribute to efforts aimed at promoting what he described as a better and more prosperous Nigeria.
The new ambassador is expected to work with members of the movement and other stakeholders to expand political conversations and mobilisation activities among Nigerians both in the United Kingdom and across other communities in the diaspora.
The movement said such engagement would be important in building stronger connections between Nigerians abroad and political developments at home as the 2027 election approaches.
Movement Expands Diaspora Mobilisation
The Village Boys Movement described Fayose’s appointment as part of a broader strategy to expand its network of ambassadors, voices and grassroots mobilisers across Nigeria and the Nigerian diaspora.
The organisation said it intends to strengthen its presence and engagement by working with individuals who can contribute to political awareness, civic participation and mobilisation.
The movement’s activities come as political groups and supporters of various presidential aspirants begin to intensify preparations and grassroots outreach ahead of the 2027 general elections.
For the Village Boys Movement, the diaspora represents an important constituency in its mobilisation strategy, particularly in creating platforms where Nigerians living abroad can participate in political discussions and support initiatives they believe can contribute to national development.
The London gathering provided one such platform, bringing supporters together to discuss their shared political interests while strengthening relationships within the wider Obidient community.
Ezeoke Congratulates Fayose
Speaking on the appointment, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke congratulated Fayose and expressed confidence that his experience, public visibility and commitment would add value to the movement’s mobilisation efforts.
Ezeoke said Fayose’s appointment reflected the movement’s determination to expand its network and engage individuals capable of contributing to its objectives.
The Village Headmaster also urged members and supporters to remain committed to peaceful and democratic participation as political activities surrounding the 2027 elections continue to develop.
Commitment to Peaceful Democratic Mobilisation
The Village Boys Movement reaffirmed that its mobilisation activities would remain focused on peaceful, democratic and grassroots-driven engagement.
The organisation said its objective is to contribute to the emergence of what it describes as a “New Nigeria”, through greater citizen participation and political mobilisation.
It also called for sustained engagement among Nigerians at home and abroad, stressing the importance of collective participation in shaping the country’s political future.
The appointment of Fayose therefore marks another step in the movement’s preparations for the 2027 political season, particularly its efforts to strengthen its organisational structure and broaden its reach within the Nigerian diaspora.
With political activities expected to intensify as the 2027 elections draw closer, the Village Boys Movement said it would continue to build partnerships, mobilise supporters and promote its political agenda through peaceful and democratic means.
The movement maintained that its growing network of ambassadors and mobilisers would play a significant role in connecting supporters, facilitating grassroots engagement and advancing its campaign for political change.
