THIS DAWN — The attached video shows the full episode of the fracas between two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its National Headquarters in Abuja.
One of the factions was led by the former governor of Rivers State and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
the other faction was a product of the PDP National Convention which took place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital between November 15 and 16, 2025.
The Convention produced Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) as the party’s chairman, alongside other national officers.
However, before the national officers of the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) led by National Chairman Turaki (SAN) convened, the Wike-led faction occupied and locked them out.
This led to heavy physical confrontation as the Turaki-led faction forced the gate open and manhandled the intruders.

PDP in free-for-all
The video shows the moment PDP members led by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, threw out members of the Wike faction from PDP Headquarters in Abuja.
The intruding faction had earlier commenced a rival National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting when they were flung out.
Governors Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde were seen in the company of their supporters amidst heavy security personnel.
They overpowered the security personnel of Wike and his group, forced the heavy security open, and gained entry into the Secretariat, while the Wike factional meeting was underway.
Wike had arrived under heavy security guard too.
Meanwhile, Police reinforcement bombarded the area with teargas and ask all parties to leave, but they all chose to stay put.
According to eyewitnesses, the Police teargas even penetrated the meeting hall, with people coughing helplessly.
Consequent upon the altercation and the attendant chaos at PDP Headquarters Secretariat in Abuja, the National Chairman, Turaki, called on the United States President, Donald Trump, to intervene and save democracy in Nigeria.
