Troops Rescue 33 Kidnapped Passengers In Zamfara
In another recent development, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued 33 passengers abducted by terrorists in the Magazu area of Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
The rescue followed credible information received on August 8, 2026, that terrorists had intercepted commuters travelling through the area.
Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, in collaboration with Nigeria Police personnel deployed in Tsafe, swiftly mobilised to the scene and engaged the terrorists.
The terrorists, unable to withstand the troops’ firepower, abandoned the victims and fled into the adjoining bushes.
All 33 passengers were subsequently rescued unhurt, while troops continued efforts to track the fleeing terrorists.
