TDThe Directorate of Media and Public Communications of the Caleb Okeke-Enyobi Campaign Organization / Nnewi First Movement has released an official statement reflecting on the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) legislative primary elections held on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Addressing citizens of Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Comrade Caleb Festus Okeke-Enyobi, popularly known as Nkan’uzu Anaedo, emphasized that the primaries marked a historic turning point in the constituency’s political journey.

Key Highlights from the Statement:

  • Grassroots Triumph: The campaign hailed the election as proof that “power truly belongs to the people”.

It cited the mobilization of traders, youth groups, and alliances such as the Obidient, Kwankwasiya, and Verified movements.

  • Democratic Integrity: Okeke-Enyobi reiterated his rejection of “automatic return tickets”.

He pledged commitment to internal party democracy where competence and character are the only measures of leadership.

  • Public Accountability: He stressed that the movement’s mission extends beyond winning a legislative ticket.

It focuses instead on protecting livelihoods, auditing market revenues, and fighting corruption in public allocations.

“We did not wait for a godfather; we relied on the brotherhood of Umu Anaedo because Umunna Bu Ike.

“Whatever the final outcome, the political consciousness of this constituency has been awakened permanently.

“The new era has arrived, and we are not turning back.”
