TD The OFO Educational Foundation has established the Prof. Chinwe Obaji Award for Excellence in Educational Leadership.
This was contained in a press release issued by the foundation and signed by its Founder and President, Dr. Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji.
The decision was made based in recognition of the contributions of former Nigerian Education Minister, Professor Chinwe Obaji, to education and the advancement of opportunities for women and girls.

The decision was reached unanimously on July 29, 2026, by the Board of the OFO Educational Foundation and the Standing Committee on the Aba Women’s Revolt of 1929.
According to the press release, the award will be presented annually to two women in global academia.

The foundation said particular emphasis would be placed on efforts that promote access to education for girls and women.
