TD FCT, ABUJA — The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arraigned two children of Anambra-born billionaire businessman, Chief Godwin Chinedu Lucky Adimike, alongside a female accomplice, before the FCT High Court in Abuja over the alleged murder of their father.
On Monday, May 25, 2026, the defendants — Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany, and Comfort Ajibade — were brought before Justice of the FCT High Court 13.
The move followed the conclusion of police investigations into the shocking killing that has unsettled Abuja’s elite Guzape District.
The Alleged Adimike Crime
Police reports indicate that Chief Adimike, popularly known as Egonaejeije Na Awka-Etiti, was stabbed to death inside his residence at Number 3, Hassan Adamu Street, Guzape, on May 15, 2026.
According to investigators, the case came to light after a distressed family member raised alarm when repeated attempts to reach the businessman failed.
Detectives who stormed the residence discovered him lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds in his bedroom.
He was rushed to Karu General Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.
Police Investigation
The gruesome killing prompted an intensive homicide investigation ordered by the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi.
Initially, five suspects were arrested, including the deceased’s son, daughter, driver, and gateman.
After weeks of interrogation and forensic analysis, prosecutors narrowed the charges to three individuals: Odirachukwu Anthony, Chinyere Stephany, and Comfort Ajibade.
The trio now faces a four-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and offences under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.
All three defendants are jointly charged with conspiracy to commit culpable homicide and culpable homicide in relation to the death of Chief Adimike.
Separately, Odirachukwu Anthony faces charges of entering into a same-sex civil union.
Stephany and Ajibade are jointly charged with entering into a same-sex civil union, contrary to Nigerian law.
Court Proceedings
During Monday’s arraignment, the defendants pleaded to the charges.
The presiding judge adjourned the matter until September 30, 2026, for further hearing.
Pending trial, the court ordered that the accused people be remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice, stressing that while suspects will face the full weight of the law, they are entitled to a fair trial.

Conflicting Narratives Over the Murder of Adimike
The murder of Chief Adimike has been clouded by conflicting accounts:
- Social Media Claims: Viral posts alleged that his 21-year-old NYSC son stabbed him after a heated argument over money, accusing his father of being “stingy.”
Some reports claimed the son returned from a nightclub with two women before the confrontation.
- Police & Family Position: Authorities have not confirmed these claims.
The Adimike family strongly denies that any of his children were involved, describing the allegations as speculative and damaging.
They urge the public to await verified findings rather than rely on unverified social media narratives.
Community Reaction and Outlook
The killing has sent shockwaves through Abuja’s highbrow Guzape district and Adimike’s hometown of Awka-Etiti, Anambra State.
Tributes have poured in for the slain businessman, remembered as a philanthropist who donated generously to churches, widows, and community welfare projects.
Many described him as a “humble giver” and a “great iroko tree” whose death is a devastating loss.
As the case proceeds, Nigerians are urged to exercise restraint and rely on official updates rather than speculative reports.
The homicide investigation remains ongoing.
Until the court delivers its verdict, the precise circumstances surrounding Chief Adimike’s death remain unclear.
For now, Abuja watches closely as one of the most sensational murder trials in recent memory unfolds.
