TD The Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination (SSCQE) 2026 officially commenced on Sunday, August 2, 2026, with simultaneous conduct at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Postgraduate School in Kaduna and the Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre in Jaji, Kaduna State.
The Examination President and Commander, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Peter Malla, delivered the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) message.
Major General Malla charged members of the Examination Panel to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and diligence.
He emphasized that the credibility of the Nigerian Army’s examination process must remain uncompromised.
He noted that panel members were selected strictly on merit and competence.
Importance of SSCQE
Major General Malla described the SSCQE as a critical determinant for career progression, particularly for selection into the Senior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and other international institutions.
He urged the panel to be objective and adhere to all rules and regulations guiding the conduct of examinations in the Nigerian Army.
He also expressed appreciation to the COAS, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM, for providing adequate support for the exercise.
Malla assured that TRADOC NA will work assiduously to achieve the objectives of the examination and actualize the command philosophy of the Army leadership.
Host’s Assurance
The chief host and Commander, Infantry Corps Centre, Major General Godwin Mutkut, delivered the welcome address.
Major General Mutkut assured the Examination Panel, representatives of Army Headquarters departments, and observers that robust administrative, logistical, and security arrangements had been put in place for the smooth conduct of the examination.
Major General Mutkut commended Army Headquarters and TRADOC NA for their efforts in planning and coordinating the exercise.
He stressed that the credibility of the SSCQE is vital for grooming future military leaders capable of tackling contemporary security challenges.
