TDGbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has reaffirmed his commitment to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that his decision to remain in the party is rooted in conviction, sacrifice, and a long-standing commitment to principled politics.
In a detailed statement addressed to Lagosians and party faithful, Rhodes-Vivour acknowledged the ongoing turbulence within Nigeria’s opposition landscape.
He noted that recent developments have tested unity and forced some political actors to pursue different paths.
Rhodes-Vivour: “I am staying in the ADC”
While expressing respect for those who have chosen to leave, he emphasized that his decision to stay with ADC is deliberate and value-driven.
“I am staying in the ADC. It is the platform we have built, the ground we have fought on, and the vehicle that can take us to victory,” Rhodes-Vivour stated.
He stressed that his choice is not based on political convenience or shifting allegiances.
Reflecting on his political journey, which spans from KOWA to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party, Rhodes-Vivour maintained that every move he has made was guided by conviction rather than personal gain.

He reiterated that he has never aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), despite alleged inducements.
He recounted instances of violence and intimidation faced by supporters, particularly during political activities in Lagos.
These included attacks during campaign periods and the aftermath of the 2023 elections.
Future Implications for Rhodes-Vivour
According to him, these experiences underscore the sacrifices made by ordinary citizens who believe in democratic change.
Rhodes-Vivour further highlighted the grassroots structures built across Lagos since 2023.
He described them as resilient, people-driven, and capable of delivering electoral success.
He stressed that unity among opposition forces remains critical, warning that division only benefits entrenched interests.
Outlining his vision, he reaffirmed commitment to the #OurLagos agenda—focused on equal opportunity, functional public institutions, and credible elections free from violence and manipulation.
“This is our moment. This is our stand. And we will not back down,” he concluded.
The statement reinforces Rhodes-Vivour’s positioning within ADC amid shifting political alignments.
It signals a continued push for opposition consolidation ahead of future electoral contests.
