TD A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Maitama has ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, to produce his American international passport in court in a $2.1 million land dispute.
Justice Sylvanus Oriji issued the order on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, during proceedings in a suit marked CV/008/2026, filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited against Jordan Wike.
The order followed evidence given by Jordan during cross-examination concerning his whereabouts on September 26, 2025.
Claimants’ $2.1m Allegation
According to the claimants, they met Jordan in London before subsequently meeting him in Abuja.
They alleged that they approached him to assist with the acquisition of land in the Federal Capital Territory.
The claimants alleged that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.
They further alleged that Jordan quoted $2.1 million as a facilitation fee, claiming that $2 million was intended for his father, Nyesom Wike, while $100,000 was allegedly his personal fee.
They claimed that the money was delivered on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani, while Jordan was allegedly accompanied by Onor Sandy.
The claimants further alleged that after the payment, the land was not delivered and the money was not refunded.
Jordan Denies Allegations
Jordan has denied the allegations.
Represented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria Ogwu Onoja, Jordan adopted his statement on oath during the resumed proceedings and disputed the claims made against him.
During cross-examination, he also denied knowledge of matters raised by the claimants’ counsel, Hamza Dantani.
The defence has reportedly presented a different account of the alleged transaction, including disputing the circumstances surrounding the alleged payment and the authenticity of an acknowledgment said to have been signed by Jordan.
A police investigation report referenced in the defence filings was also said to have questioned whether the claimant had provided sufficient evidence of the alleged payment. The allegations contained in the report and the defence remain subject to the determination of the court.
Court Orders Passport Production
During Tuesday’s hearing, Jordan was asked where he was on September 26, 2025.
He told the court that he was outside Nigeria.
When asked which passport he used to travel, he said he travelled with his American international passport and indicated that he could produce it if required.
Counsel for the claimants subsequently applied for an order compelling him to produce the passport.
Justice Oriji granted the application and ordered Jordan to produce the document before the court.
The claimants’ counsel also asked Jordan to write his full name five times and append his signature five times on a plain sheet of paper. The application was not opposed by the defence and was granted by the court.
The case was adjourned until Wednesday for continuation of the hearing.
