SHOCKER! INEC Secretly Creates Additional 453 Polling Units, Hides 83,938 Voters from Register

A crowdsourced count by MundX Analytics reports 177,299 polling units and 103,512,653 voter entries in INEC’s preliminary display. The totals differ from the commission’s previously announced figures, but the audit alone does not establish secret creation or deliberate voter suppression.

Noticias de This DawnABUJA, Nigeria — MundX Analytics says a crowdsourced review of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) preliminary voters’ register found 177,299 polling units in the public display, 453 more than the longstanding national total of 176,846.

The group also counted 103,512,653 registered-voter entries, 83,938 above the 103,428,715 figure reported by INEC on 6 October.

MundX said thousands of contributors reviewed the display polling unit by polling unit and that its data gathering was complete.

Its published statements present the differences as findings from a count of records visible in the preliminary register.

The figures are independently counted totals.

They are not an INEC confirmation that 453 new units were formally established or that 83,938 eligible voters were intentionally omitted from another register.

Difference between the display and an earlier national total does not explain whether the records reflect newly configured units.

It does not explain whether they are transfers, duplicate or misclassified records, changes to administrative boundaries, or a counting and data-matching issue.

Those possibilities require unit-level reconciliation by INEC and the auditors.

What the comparison shows

INEC’s 2023 General Election Report says the commission converted 56,872 voting points and voting-point settlements into full polling units in June 2021.

That brings the national total to 176,846. That is the established comparator used in the current dispute.

The commission’s own report also describes subsequent voter movement among units, underscoring why a comparison needs a dated, unit-level inventory and clear definitions.

MundX says its visualizations set the two totals side by side, using scaled bars, icons and digit-by-digit comparisons to make the gaps visible.

The arithmetic is straightforward: 177,299 minus 176,846 equals 453; 103,512,653 minus 103,428,715 equals 83,938.

The arithmetic confirms the size of the reported differences, not their cause.

The timeline published by INEC

INEC said the preliminary register was physically displayed at registration areas from 9 to 15 October for voters to inspect their particulars and submit claims or objections.

On 27 October, the commission said it had placed the same preliminary register online to widen access.

It assured that it was processing claims and objections ahead of publication of the final register scheduled for 15 December 2026.

The public record reviewed for this report includes INEC’s earlier 176,846 baseline and its display-process statement.

It does not, however, proffer detailed commission reconciliation of the 453-unit or 83,938-entry differences.

The absence of such a reconciliation in the reviewed material does not determine whether the mismatch is an error or an authorized change.

What should happen next

The discrepancy calls for a transparent reconciliation before the final register is certified.

INEC can publish the polling-unit inventory used for the preliminary display, identify any units added, and merged, renamed or reassigned.

It should also provide matching voter totals by state, local government, ward and polling unit.

MundX can make its count method, inclusion rules and machine-readable tally available so the comparison can be reproduced.

Voters need access to the relevant records during the claims-and-objections process.

Currently, the strongest supported conclusion is that MundX’s count of the preliminary display exceeds INEC’s previously announced national totals by 453 polling-unit records and 83,938 voter entries.

Whether those differences represent formal additions, data inconsistencies or another cause remains unresolved.
