TD Nigerian dancer and hypeman Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has become the centre of intense public attention following reports of an ongoing criminal case against him in the United Kingdom.

Poco Lee’s management and legal team have now broken their silence on the matter.

The management urged members of the public and the media to exercise restraint and avoid spreading information that is not contained in the official court proceedings.

The clarification comes amid widespread discussions on social media over the dancer’s reported detention in the UK and allegations involving sexual offences.

According to reports from the Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, Poco Lee is scheduled to appear before the court on September 15, 2026, for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Poco Lee’s management addresses drink-spiking reports

One of the major issues addressed by Poco Lee’s representatives was the claim circulating online that drink-spiking formed part of the case against the entertainer.

His management specifically rejected that narrative, stating that allegations involving “drink spiking” are not part of the charges before the UK court.

In a statement dated August 25 and signed by Adedoyin Faleye on behalf of Poco Lee’s management, the team said it was concerned about the volume of unverified information circulating about the case.

The representatives called on the public to distinguish between information officially contained in court proceedings and claims being circulated on social media.

They also warned that adding unverified details to an ongoing legal case could contribute to misinformation and unfairly influence public opinion.

What charges is Poco Lee facing?

While Poco Lee’s management has urged caution over reports about the case, information confirmed by the court indicates that the dancer is facing serious allegations.

TheCable Lifestyle reported that Snaresbrook Crown Court confirmed charges of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

The reports also noted that a reporting restriction is in place to protect the identity of the complainant.

Because the case is before the court, details surrounding the allegations remain subject to the legal process.

It is therefore important to distinguish between allegations made against a defendant and facts that have been established by a court.

Poco Lee has not been convicted of the allegations.

His management has repeatedly stressed this point, reminding the public that an allegation does not amount to proof of guilt.

Poco Lee’s September 15 hearing confirmed

The next major development in the case is Poco Lee’s scheduled appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026.

The court confirmed to Nigerian media that the matter is officially listed for plea and trial preparation on that date.

However, the court has not yet released the precise courtroom or hearing time, with that information expected to become available closer to the proceedings.

A plea and trial preparation hearing is an important stage in a criminal case because it helps determine how the case will proceed and deals with matters relating to the defendant’s plea and preparation for trial.

Management calls for fair hearing

Poco Lee’s representatives have appealed to Nigerians and the international public to allow the British judicial system to handle the matter.

The team stressed that the case is already before the appropriate authorities and should not be decided through social media commentary.

The management also emphasised the principle of fair hearing, noting that conclusions about Poco Lee’s guilt or innocence should only be reached after the legal process has taken its course.

The statement comes at a time when social media has become a major source of information about the case, with different versions of events circulating among Nigerian entertainment followers.

By clarifying that drink-spiking claims are not part of the charges before the court, Poco Lee’s team appears to be seeking to separate verified information from speculation.

Separate allegations about Poco Lee also circulating

Another issue that has attracted attention is an allegation reportedly made by Texas-based Nigerian rapper Jorji, who claimed that Poco Lee attempted to sexually assault her and a female friend during an encounter in Dallas in 2024.

According to Premium Times, Jorji alleged that she and her friend visited Poco Lee’s apartment seeking music mentorship before she said he made unwanted advances.

Poco Lee has not publicly responded to that allegation.

However, there is currently no verified information establishing that the Dallas allegation is connected to the UK criminal proceedings.

That distinction is important as the UK case continues, particularly because Poco Lee’s management has warned against merging separate claims and unverified narratives.

How Poco Lee’s UK case came to public attention

Reports about Poco Lee’s situation began circulating widely on Nigerian social media around August 18 and 19, 2026.

The reports initially generated uncertainty about his whereabouts and the nature of the legal issue.

Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby and founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, later confirmed reports that Poco Lee was being held on remand in the UK.

Kuti said he became aware of the development through his involvement in supporting Nigerians facing legal proceedings in Britain and indicated that he intended to attend the court proceedings in support of Poco Lee.

The subsequent confirmation from Snaresbrook Crown Court provided official backing for reports that Poco Lee had a scheduled court appearance.

Poco Lee’s career and popularity

Before the legal controversy, Poco Lee was widely recognised as one of Nigeria’s prominent dancers and entertainers.

He rose to prominence through Nigeria’s street-dance culture, particularly with dance styles associated with Zanku and legwork.

Over the years, he expanded his career beyond dancing, becoming known as a hypeman and entertainer and collaborating with some of the biggest names in Nigerian music.

His professional associations have included major Nigerian artistes such as Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Zlatan Ibile and Tiwa Savage.

His popularity has also made the current legal controversy a major topic among Nigerian entertainment followers, with fans and social media users closely following developments ahead of his next court appearance.

Public urged to wait for court outcome

As the September 15 hearing approaches, Poco Lee’s management is urging the public to allow the judicial process to determine the outcome of the case.

The team has made it clear that it does not want unverified claims, particularly those concerning alleged drink-spiking, to become part of public understanding of the court proceedings when they are not included in the charges.

At the same time, the seriousness of the charges confirmed by the court means that the case is likely to remain a major topic in Nigeria’s entertainment space.

For now, Poco Lee remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of law.

The September 15 proceedings at Snaresbrook Crown Court are expected to provide further information about the direction of the case and the next steps in the legal process.

Until then, Poco Lee’s management has asked Nigerians, entertainment platforms and social media users to exercise caution, rely on verified information and avoid reaching conclusions before the court has heard and determined the matter.
