Kaduna, Kaduna State — The convener of the El-Rufai Youth Movement, Modibbo Sanusi, has raised concerns over the whereabouts of colleague Imran Wakili after more than 12 hours without contact following his reported decision to honour a police invitation.
Sanusi, in an urgent public statement circulated on X, said Imran had sent him a pre-written account of events at his residence and specifically instructed him to make it public if he became unreachable.
According to Sanusi, repeated attempts by members of the El-Rufai political camp to contact Imran had been unsuccessful, prompting concerns about his safety and whereabouts.

Police reportedly arrested his younger brother and towed family vehicle
In the statement attributed to the El-Rufai supporter, he said police personnel initially visited his residence looking for him but did not find him there.
He said the officers described the matter as urgent and asked him to report to them.
According to his account, the police later returned to the residence, arrested his younger brother and towed a family vehicle.
Imran alleged that the officers claimed the vehicle was stolen and insisted that he present himself before they could release his brother.
He disputed the allegation, explaining that the vehicle had been used by his younger brother for approximately two to three years before he began driving it himself.
He expressed surprise that a vehicle the family had reportedly used for several years had suddenly become the subject of a stolen-vehicle allegation.
Imran said he was on his way to meet the police when he sent the statement to Sanusi, explaining that he wanted the circumstances made public in case he could no longer be reached.
Sanusi appeals to security agencies and the public
In his appeal, Sanusi urged members of the public and security agencies to assist in establishing Imran’s whereabouts.
He provided the following contact details for anyone with relevant information:
-

Email: elrufailive@gmail.com
-
Telephone: +234 808 213 1009
Images accompanying the appeal reportedly included Imran’s photograph, the El-Rufai Boys logo and WhatsApp screenshots of the statement he had sent before becoming unreachable.
The appeal also attracted responses from social media users expressing concern, with some replies claiming that Imran had been arrested.
However, those claims have not been independently established in the material available for this report.
El-Rufai Movement questions circumstances of reported disappearance
The El-Rufai Movement account raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the reported police operation.
This includes the alleged arrest of Imran’s younger brother, the seizure of the family vehicle and the basis for describing it as stolen.
It also raises questions about whether Imran was formally invited, whether he was subsequently detained and which police formation, if any, is handling the matter.
As of the time of publication, the statement supplied by Sanusi does not identify the police station or officers involved.
No official police response or independent confirmation of Imran’s reported arrest has been established for this report.
The Nigeria Police Force would need to clarify whether Imran is in its custody, the reason for any detention and the legal basis for the reported seizure of the vehicle.
The immediate concern expressed by the El-Rufai Youth Movement is to establish Imran’s safety and whereabouts.
Sanusi said he was publishing the statement in accordance with Imran’s specific instruction.
He appealed to the public to amplify the message until contact could be re-established.
