TDThe African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced a rescheduling of its presidential and governorship screening exercise.
Originally slated for this weekend, the screenings will now take place on Monday, 18 May 2026.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC explained that the adjustment was necessary due to prevailing circumstances.
Security Concerns in Northern Nigeria
The party further cited the security situation affecting parts of Northern Nigeria.
It disclosed that, owing to situation, the screening of aspirants for federal legislative positions from those areas will now be conducted in Abuja.
According to the statement, all affected aspirants will be contacted directly with updated schedules and logistical details.
Party’s Position
The ADC expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the changes and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of aspirants and stakeholders.
“We regret any inconvenience this adjustment may cause and appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all aspirants and stakeholders,” the statement read.
