TDThe Anambra State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has successfully conducted its State Congress in Awka, reaffirming Comrade Patrick Obianyo and his executive team as leaders of the party in the state through a consensus arrangement.
According to a statement issued by the Anambra State Publicity Secretary of the party, Isaac O. Umeokoye, the congress was held in an atmosphere of peace, unity, transparency, and mutual understanding among party members and stakeholders.
The exercise reportedly commenced with the accreditation of delegates and the arrival of national officials, members of the Congress Electoral Committee, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party leaders, stakeholders, and guests from across the state.
Activities during the congress included opening formalities, welcome addresses, keynote presentations, submission of reports, and other official proceedings outlined in the congress programme.
The statement noted that delegates and stakeholders overwhelmingly adopted a consensus arrangement that returned Comrade Patrick Obianyo and his working team to continue piloting the affairs of the party in Anambra State.
According to the party, the decision reflected the confidence members have in the Obianyo-led administration.
It said that the administration has continued to strengthen the party’s structure and visibility across the state.
The congress was supervised by the Chairman of the Congress Electoral Committee, Rev. Egbunike Ogochukwu, alongside committee members.
Meanwhile, INEC officials and other stakeholders monitored the process to ensure credibility and transparency.
ADC Anambra State also confirmed that the State, Local Government Area, and Ward Congresses were all successfully concluded on May 7, 2026.
The party expressed gratitude to God for what it described as the peaceful and successful conduct of the congresses.
Obianyo congratulated party leaders, delegates, executives, stakeholders, and members for their unity, maturity, and commitment throughout the exercise.
It further stated that the party remains united, focused, and prepared for future political engagements and electoral victories in the state.
