TDNigerian music icon 2Baba and his wife, Natasha Osawaru Idibia, have reportedly joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), according to emerging reports from Abuja.
The development was confirmed during a reception ceremony for new members of the party, where NDC leaders welcomed several defectors and fresh entrants into the political movement.
According to reports, Natasha Osawaru Idibia, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Egor Constituency, formally aligned with the NDC alongside other political figures from Edo and Gombe States.
However, available reports specifically mention Natasha Idibia’s participation in the defection event.
There is currently no independent confirmation that 2Baba officially registered as a member of the NDC, although his association with Natasha at political events has fueled speculation online.
The music legend, widely celebrated for hit songs including African Queen, has increasingly appeared in public alongside the Edo lawmaker since their relationship became public in 2025.
Natasha later adopted the “Idibia” surname following their union.
Political observers say the involvement of high-profile entertainers could boost public engagement ahead of future elections, with many supporters already reacting enthusiastically on social media.
“Campaigning with 2Baba on the mic is going to be interesting,” one supporter wrote following the announcement.
The NDC leadership has continued to position the party as a growing opposition platform seeking to attract youths, entertainers, and grassroots political actors nationwide.
