TDThere was heavy shooting Tuesday afternoon in Benin, as Mr. Peter Obi, former Edo State Governor, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and other African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftains, escaped assassination attempt by people suspected to be All Progressives Congress (APC) thugs.
It could be recalled that the current state governor, Mr. Monday Okpebholo, had warned Peter Obi never to visit his State.
Mr. Okpebholo threatened Obi to be prepared for any consequence of he dared to.
During an ADC event on Tuesday, hoodlums invaded the venue and began shooting.
Eyewitnesses said they specifically chased the vehicle carrying Mr. Obi to Chief Odigie-Oyegun’s house and continued the attack.
The situation was chaotic as those nearby tried to ascertain whether Mr. Obi was wounded.
According to Obi’s media side, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, fortunate enough, he was not injured but was safe.
