TDPresident Bola Tinubu has congratulated renowned Nigerian economist, banker, and philanthropist, Mr. Tony Onyemaechi Elumelu, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday celebrated on March 22.
The President joined family members, friends, and business associates in celebrating the life and achievements of one of Africa’s most influential business leaders.

Tinubu praised the Chairman of Heirs Holdings for his resilience, discipline, and commitment to excellence, which he said are evident in the success of his various business ventures.
The President also highlighted Elumelu’s strong belief in Africapitalism.
Africapitalism is an economic philosophy that promotes long-term private sector investments.
Such investments are aimed at creating both economic prosperity and social wealth across the African continent.
Commitment to Youth Empowerment
The President particularly applauded Elumelu’s passion for youth development through the Tony Elumelu Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Programme.
According to the statement, the initiative has trained over 2.5 million young Africans from 54 countries through its online training platform.
Furthermore, more than 24,000 young entrepreneurs have benefited from non-refundable seed grants of $5,000 each to help them establish and grow their businesses.
President Tinubu emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in addressing unemployment and promoting innovation.
HE noted that empowering young people remains key to sustainable development in Africa.
