THIS DAWN — In the attached video, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi decries the vanity of amassing wealth but ironically died shortly afterwards.
In the video described as “video that teaches”, Senator Nwaoboshi said:
The above was said by the late Senator just few weeks ago before his death.
Observers decried the futility of stealing public wealth to buy Maybach and Rolls Royce, and acquire mansions that one will only sleep in one room.
Onochie calls Nwaoboshi a thief
On her part, Ms. Lauretta Onochie disagreed, calling the late lawmaker a thief.
Onochie described Nwaoboshi as someone who robbed the Anioma people of Nigeria, and the Niger Delta more broadly, of their progress and development.
She emphasized that while death comes to everyone eventually, how one is remembered depends on living an upright life.

She rejected what she called false tributes being shared about him.
Onochie insisted that it would be a betrayal of the Anioma people and Nigerians who saw him jailed for corruption.
According to her, Nwaoboshi diverted funds meant for developmental projects into his own pockets.
She alleged that even when billions were allocated for school furniture, he manipulated the process by making schools sign for deliveries before reclaiming the items and storing them in his warehouse in Asaba.
“No rest for the wicked”
Onochie declared that “there is no rest for the wicked,” adding that Anioma is now rid of a criminal who exploited the people.
She further claimed that militants he allegedly funded with public resources will eventually lose support, warning security agencies to be alert.
She criticized those defending him online, saying they were ignorant and aspiring to emulate his corrupt ways.
Citing others, she asserted that Nwaoboshi has gone to “the hottest part of hell,” despite his denials of owning multiple properties.
Onochie warned other looters in Anioma, Delta State, the Niger Delta, and Nigeria at large.
The former presidential aide noted that wealth and mansions cannot shield them from public accountability.
She concluded that Nwaoboshi was wicked, would not find peace, and that Anioma should rejoice at his passing.
She noted that his death prevents him from returning to the Senate in 2027 to continue exploiting the people.
