TDHaba Nigerians!
Why do you think your leaders are miracle workers to turn your country around? After all, Nigeria is still a young, fledgling country of 66 years trying to find her feet. Remember, there’re no miracle workers anywhere in the world.
Nigerians learn to be patient. Learn to be patriotic. Learn to be resilient. Learn to endure. Learn to persevere. Learn to sacrifice. Respect your leaders. Always give them the benefit of the doubt. Learn not to rush to judgment. Learn to criticize constructively. Learn to pray for your leaders and your country.
Stop abusing and demonizing your leaders. Your leaders are chosen by God. Obey your leaders. Learn to fasten your belts. Stop demanding give me this, give me that. Discipline your appetite. Cut your coat according to your size. Ask not what government or your leaders can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country!
Uneasy lies the head that wears Awo Cap, Jagaban Cap, Cow Boy Cap, Fedora Cap, etc. Nigerians, stop asking for bread alone. Ask for stones. After all, you shall not live by bread alone. As followers, you must obey your leaders realizing God put them there. Don’t insult or ridicule your leaders. Stop saying negatives about your country. Stop demarketing your country. Stop wishing the country bad.
Don’t be greedy. Follow the example of your leaders. They are your moral compass. They are your standard. They are your counselors. They are your role models.
Why do you always expect something from your leaders? Don’t you realize they have paid their dues? Do you remember all the sacrifices they made so you can live better? They are human beings. Their capacities and capabilities are limited.
Their brains have become atrophied. Some of them have no brains left due to over exhaustion from corruption and selfishness. Be gentle with them. Pity them. Treat them like you’ll like to be treated.
Do you forget they didn’t ask for this job? Do you forget they are accidental leaders? They are not indebted to you in any way. They didn’t promise you anything. In fact, they owe you nothing!
Nigerians, what exactly is your problem? What exactly do you want from your leaders and from this government? Can’t you see you’re stressing and straining your leaders? Can’t you see they are doing their best to serve you the best way they know? Have mercy and compassion on your leaders.
Don’t demand too much from them. They know better than you. They know what’s good for you. They know your wants and needs. You can’t be too wise than your leaders. Remember, the servant is not above his master. Respect their age and wisdom.
Don’t forget the leadership culture and cult of Nigeria: A leader is a taker. A leader takes all. A leader steals everything. A leader is untouchable. A leader is supreme. A leader cannot be questioned or challenged. A leader is an oracle. A leader must be feared, worshipped, revered, and loved. A leader must win at all costs and at all times. A leader knows all.
Stop hauling bricks and mortars at your leaders. Respect their old age. Respect their vulnerabilities. Respect their feeble minds and indeed vacant minds. Respect their courage and boldness even in the face of losing their lives. They have done so much for you. You can never ever repay them.
Where were you when they were hungry? Did you give them food? Where were you when they were homeless? Did you shelter them? Where were you when they were sick? Did you care for them? Don’t you know you’re stressing, straining, starving, and strangling and suffocating your leaders? They can’t breathe!
Where were you when they had no shoes? Did you give them sandals to wear? Where were you when they were naked? Did you clothe them? Where were you when they were hungry? Did you give them agbado? Paki? Cassava? Gari? Abula? Tuwo?
Do not speak ill of your leaders. Do them no harm! They are your leaders today. They will be your leaders tomorrow. And they will be your leaders forever. Can all the people say a loud Amen?
