TDEmmanuel O. Ohai has formally announced his candidacy for the House of Representatives, seeking to represent the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking with conviction, Ohai declared: “I offer myself to serve.”
He explained that his decision followed deep reflection, consultation with family, and a sincere commitment to public service.
A Journey of Service and Dedication
Ohai highlighted his life’s journey from his early years in Nigeria to professional experiences across the public and private sectors in the United States.
These experiences, he said, reinforced his belief in dedication, integrity, and community.
“I have seen firsthand the challenges our people face, as well as the tremendous potential that exists across our towns and communities,” he noted.
His campaign, he emphasized, is about strong, accountable, and people‑focused representation.

Family Support and Inspiration
In his announcement, Ohai shared heartfelt messages from family members that strengthened his resolve.
- His nephew, Pastor Elijah L. from the UK, wrote: “A life of service and sacrifice is a life well spent.
“We are not going to be remembered for how well we fared, but for how well others fared because of our contributions.”
- His sister, Mary O. from Nigeria, responded with words of faith:
“Amen. He is moving as led by the Spirit of God. All glory be to God.”

- His brother, Dr. Paul O. from the U.S., added:
“Congratulations for your achievements. I am proud of you. God’s blessings and protection be with you.”
These reflections, Ohai said, reminded him that his candidacy is about purpose, service, and impact beyond personal ambition.
Emmanuel Ohai: Looking Ahead
Ohai pledged to engage with community members, listen to their concerns, and shape a vision that reflects the hopes of Aniocha/Oshimili.
“With humility and a deep sense of responsibility, I offer myself for service,” he concluded.
He invoked the rallying call: “Ofu Obi na Oganishu Kanyi Cho! ADC, Arise and Shine!!”
His declaration sets the stage for a spirited campaign in the constituency.
Issues of youth empowerment, economic growth, and accountable leadership remain central to voters’ expectations in the region.
