THIS DAWN — More trouble may be brewing for Senator Ned Nwoko as Serenity Royale Hospital in Abuja has denied the “Detox Report” on Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, sparking a new wave of political controversy.
Serenity Royale Hospital issued a formal disclaimer distancing itself from a document circulating online linked to Regina Daniels.
The document was described as a “mid-term home detox report” allegedly prepared for the Nollywood actress.
In a statement released on November 13, 2025, the hospital said the report “did not emanate from us”.
It urged the public to disregard the document, which it described as containing “classified information.”
The management further reaffirmed its commitment to ethical medical practice and strict confidentiality standards.
The disclaimer immediately triggered a new wave of controversy around Senator Chinedu “Ned” Nwoko, Regina Daniels’ husband.
Commentators online have alleged that the document was fabricated.
Renewed scrutiny
Some critics accused the senator of attempting to influence public perception, amid renewed scrutiny of his private life.
One of the most vocal critics, activist and publisher of Sahara reporters, Omoyele Sowore, claimed the document was part of “a much bigger cover-up”.
Sowore alleged that Senator Nwoko was under pressure following the recent release of Regina Daniels’ brother, Samuele Ojeogwu.
Critics further alleged that the senator was “pushing desperate narratives,” although none of these claims have been independently verified.
The statements circulating online also accuse the lawmaker of attempting to “smear” Regina Daniels and intimidate her.
They further call for investigations in Nigeria and abroad, alleging misconduct.
However, Senator Nwoko has not publicly responded to these accusations as of the time of filing this report, and no official agency has confirmed launching an inquiry.
The controversy has sparked wider discussion on the following:
- The responsibilities of public officials,
- The misuse of confidential documents, and,
- The growing trend of unverified reports influencing public debate.
With Serenity Royale Hospital’s disclaimer now public, attention is expected to shift toward verifying the origins of the forged document and clarifying the circumstances surrounding its circulation.
