TDMild confusion has emerged within Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as a Microbiologist from the University of Strathclyde, Dr Hafsatu Danladi, has publicly declared herself the “true and authentic Chairperson” of the party.
In a press release shared on her verified X account, Danladi announced her intention to challenge the legitimacy of the current APC leadership in court.
Danladi stated that she will approach the Federal High Court in Abuja to contest the authority of the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Mr. Nentawe Yilwatda.
She described Yilwatda as presiding over an “illegitimate structure.”
She further revealed plans to request the court to direct the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw recognition of Yilwatda’s leadership.
“This step is necessary to uphold the rule of law, protect the integrity of our party, and ensure that due process is followed in its leadership,” Danladi declared.

Hafsatu Danladi Sparks Political Debates
Her announcement has sparked immediate debate within APC circles, with observers noting that the party has faced repeated internal disputes over leadership and succession.
Analysts warn that such divisions could weaken the APC’s cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, where unity will be critical to maintaining its dominance.
Danladi’s bold claim underscores the growing tension between factions within the ruling party.
While the NWC under Yilwatda continues to enjoy official recognition, her move signals a looming legal battle that could reshape the party’s leadership structure.
Political watchers say the case will test both the resilience of APC’s internal democracy and the impartiality of Nigeria’s judiciary in resolving intra-party conflicts.
For many, the development highlights the fragile state of party politics in Nigeria, where leadership disputes often spill into the courts and threaten broader stability.
As the situation unfolds, all eyes will be on the Federal High Court in Abuja to determine whether Danladi’s claim will gain legal traction or further deepen the cracks within the APC.
Danladi’s Hatred for President Tinubu
At closer scrutiny, it was observed that Dr. Danladi has a special dislike for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Posts seen on her social media handle portrayed angst against his presidential policies.
She also in several posts accused him of incompetence and nepotism.
She was even alleged by some analysts to be an apologist of Mr. Peter Obi.
