President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a fresh round of appointments to key federal institutions.
The new appointments underscore his administration’s emphasis on strengthening Nigeria’s capacity in science, technology, energy regulation, and fiscal oversight.
SHESTCO Appointment
Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Abuja.
SHESTCO plays a pivotal role in Nigeria’s scientific advancement, tasked with conducting cutting-edge research and development in technology and overseeing the country’s nuclear research facility.
The appointment signals the administration’s intent to reposition SHESTCO as a hub for innovation, particularly in biotechnology, materials science, and nuclear energy applications.
These areas are critical to Nigeria’s long-term industrial competitiveness.
NEMSA Leadership
Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael has been named the Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).
NEMSA is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and technical standards of Nigeria’s electricity supply infrastructure.
Its oversight includes testing, certifying, and enforcing compliance in electrical installations nationwide.
Alongside Michael, President Tinubu appointed a diverse slate of board members to strengthen regional representation and technical expertise:
- Engr. Aliyu Abdulazeez – Executive Director, Technical
- Ikechi Clara Nwosu – Chairman, South East

This expanded leadership team is expected to bolster NEMSA’s regulatory capacity at a time when Nigeria is grappling with persistent power challenges and the urgent need to modernize its electricity infrastructure.
RMAFC Nominations
In addition to the science and energy appointments, President Tinubu nominated two commissioners to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC):
- Amina Gamawa (Bauchi)
- Abdullahi Muktar (Kaduna)
The RMAFC plays a crucial role in Nigeria’s fiscal governance, overseeing revenue allocation among federal, state, and local governments, and ensuring transparency in fiscal mobilization.
The nominees have been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation, a process that will determine their formal entry into the commission.
Official Confirmation
The appointments were confirmed in a press release signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
The statement emphasized that the new leadership teams are expected to drive reforms, enhance efficiency, and strengthen institutional credibility in their respective agencies.
The Presidency said Tinubu’s latest appointments reflect a strategic focus on science, technology, energy regulation, and fiscal accountability.
By reinforcing SHESTCO’s research mandate, empowering NEMSA’s oversight role, and strengthening RMAFC’s fiscal management, the administration aims to lay a stronger foundation for innovation, reliable electricity, and transparent revenue allocation.
