TDThe National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced to its members and the general public that the party’s National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza, along with Legacy House in Maitama, have been reopened by the Nigeria Police Force.
The properties have now been officially handed over to the National Chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed Takushara, and the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyawu, in full compliance with valid court orders.
Background – Why the Plaza Was Sealed
PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Zone 5, Abuja, and the Legacy House, Maitama, had earlier been sealed by security operatives following internal leadership disputes and conflicting claims over control of the party’s structures.
The sealing was initially carried out to prevent escalation of tensions and maintain public order while the courts deliberated on the matter.
Unsealing of the Secretariat
On Saturday, April 11, 2026, the Nigeria Police Force officially unsealed both Wadata Plaza and Legacy House.
The facilities were handed over to the party’s leadership in full compliance with duly issued court orders.
The PDP National Working Committee (NWC) confirmed the development in a press release.
It commended the Police for their professionalism and adherence to the rule of law.
Party’s Warning
The PDP strongly cautioned against any further attempts to obstruct or disrupt activities at its secretariat.
The party emphasized that:
- Security agencies have been alerted to take necessary action against violators.
- Members and stakeholders must conduct themselves within the bounds of the law.
- Any act capable of breaching peace at the headquarters will not be tolerated.
Call for Unity
The party described the unsealing as a positive development, reassuring members that recent challenges have been effectively resolved.
The NWC urged aggrieved members to sheath their swords and embrace unity in the collective interest of the PDP.
The statement also expressed appreciation to leaders and stakeholders for their steadfast support during the crisis.
In particular, the party acknowledged the guidance and commitment of its National Leader, Chief Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
His support was described as “invaluable.”
With the unsealing of Wadata Plaza and Legacy House, the PDP leadership says it is now focused on moving forward “stronger, united, and more committed” to its vision.
The resolution of the dispute marks a significant step in stabilizing the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Headline Message:
“Together, we move forward—Stronger, United, and Committed to our shared vision.”
