Massive fires erupted at the Port of Salalah after Iranian drones allegedly struck Oman’s largest oil storage facilities, according to footage circulating on regional media.
The attack marks a dangerous escalation in the Middle East conflict, threatening global energy supplies and regional stability.
The Strike
Eyewitness footage shows towering flames and thick smoke billowing from the storage tanks.
Emergency crews rushed to contain the blaze, but officials warn that damage to the facility could disrupt Oman’s export capacity for weeks.

U.S. Military Destroys Multiple Iranian Naval Vessels, Including 16 Minelayers
In a parallel development, U.S. forces reported the destruction of multiple Iranian naval vessels, including 16 minelayers near the Strait of Hormuz.
Pentagon officials described the operation as a defensive measure to secure vital shipping lanes and prevent further disruption to global oil traffic.
Strategic Implications
- Energy Security: The Port of Salalah is a critical hub for regional oil logistics. Any prolonged disruption could send global oil prices soaring.
- Regional Escalation: The strikes highlight the widening scope of the conflict, drawing Oman — traditionally a neutral player — into the line of fire.
- Global Markets: Analysts warn that the combination of drone attacks and naval clashes could trigger volatility across energy and financial markets.
Outlook
The dual incidents underscore the fragility of the Gulf’s security environment.
With Iran expanding its reach and U.S. forces intensifying their response, the risk of a broader confrontation looms large.
International observers are urging restraint, but the scale of the attacks suggests the conflict may be entering a new and more dangerous phase.
In the meantime, US military issues warning to all civilians in Iran to immediately leave ports being used by the Iranian Navy.
The warning came after the preliminary strikes at Iranian naval facilities, suggesting that more may follow.
Trump’s Warning
Before the attack, The White House had quoted President Donald Trump’s post:
“If Iran has put out any mines in the Hormuz Strait, and we have no reports of them doing so, we want them removed, IMMEDIATELY!
If for any reason mines were placed, and they are not removed forthwith, the Military consequences to Iran will be at a level never seen before.
If, on the other hand, they remove what may have been placed, it will be a giant step in the right direction!
Additionally, we are using the same Technology and Missile capabilities deployed against Drug Traffickers to permanently eliminate any boat or ship attempting to mine the Hormuz Strait.
They will be dealt with quickly and violently. BEWARE!”
Shortly afterwards, Trump posted again on social media:
“I am pleased to report that within the last few hours, we have hit, and completely destroyed, 10 inactive mine laying boats and/or ships, with more to follow!”
Analysts say the war may yet take a more dangerous corner as it protracts.
