THIS DAWN — Judge James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has sentenced the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to life in the terrorism cum treason case.
The judgement was aired live on national televisions.
Judge Omotosho has earlier in the day convicted Nnamdi Kanu while reading the judgment today, November 20.
The Prosecutors demanded the death sentence for the IPOB leader.
However, taking into cognizance the merciful nature of God and Jesus Christ, the judge gave life sentence Kanu for the first count charge.
On the second charge, he was sentenced to 20 years and on the third charge, 5 years.
