TDThe African Democratic Congress (ADC), Anambra State Chapter, has issued a strong statement distancing itself from a purported meeting scheduled to hold in Awka on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
In a press release signed by the State Working Committee (SWC), the party declared that the program, reportedly organized under the banner of MRMR Anambra State, is unauthorized and illegal.
The SWC emphasized that:
- It had zero involvement in the planning of the meeting and was never consulted.
- The gathering lacks legitimacy as it does not have the approval of the party’s leadership and violates internal protocols.
- Loyal members are directed to boycott the event and await instructions only from the official State Secretariat.
Party’s Commitment
The statement reaffirmed ADC’s commitment to orderliness, constitutional supremacy, and internal discipline.
It, therefore, warning members against participating in activities that undermine the party’s structures.
The SWC urged supporters across Anambra State to disregard any invitations related to the meeting.
It stressesd that only directives from the ADC State Secretariat should be considered valid.
With the declaration, the ADC Anambra State Chapter drew a clear line between its official activities and what it describes as an illegitimate gathering.
The move is seen as part of efforts to maintain unity and protect the integrity of the party ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
