The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the commencement of free online membership registration across Nigeria, expanding its ongoing nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise launched last month.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the ADC.
The party revealed that the new digital platform — available at its website — is a crucial step in preparing for the 2027 general elections, as well as upcoming congresses and conventions.
Abdullahi emphasized that manual registration will continue simultaneously across the country.
Digital Platform for Electoral Compliance
According to the statement, the online registration system is designed to meet the requirements of the Electoral Act 2026, which mandates a digital membership register.
Only individuals whose details are fully captured and verified in the party’s official digital register will be eligible to vote or contest in ADC primaries.
The party noted that Nigerians at home and abroad have shown strong interest since the launch of the grassroots membership exercise in February.
The free online option, it explained, is intended to remove barriers to entry, simplify enrolment, and ensure seamless and secure participation for all eligible Nigerians.

Revalidation and Support Groups
ADC clarified that members who registered on its previous platform must revalidate their membership on the new portal.
In the meantime, additional mandatory information is now required to comply fully with INEC guidelines.
Support groups and associations are also encouraged to take advantage of the registration window by completing the onboarding process at the website.
Position on Electoral Act
The party affirmed its commitment to building a modern, inclusive, and citizen-driven political movement.
ADC reiterated its objections to certain provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, which it argues give undue advantage to the ruling party.
In the long run, the party pledged to continue mobilizing Nigerians towards credible leadership and a better Nigeria that works for all.
